WASCAR

ABOUT WASCAR:

WASCAR. Henry Ford once said, "Auto racing began five minutes after the second car was built." Well, the thrill of victory for the "Chase for the Cup" is emulated in WASCAR.

The Williams After School Club Auto Racing (WASCAR) is a weeklong sports-themed event focusing on creative arts, friendly competition, popular mechanics, science in technology, sports history, and teamwork.

The children of WASC experience our Great American Race by receiving an all-access Pit Pass or general admission Pit Pass for admission to all the activities of the week.

Under the instructional guidance of an educator, each driver constructs their own pinewood derby car for the WASCAR of the Year competition and also track competition for the grand finale event – the Auburndale 500.

GRAND MARSHAL:

Boys and Girls, Start Your Engines! The Auburndale 500 is the Williams After School Club's premier pinewood derby event and consistently attracts some of the biggest personalities within the Williams Elementary School District Community. We're excited to have this year's Grand Marshal take part in the Auburndale 500 race festivities to help start what will be an exciting 2012 WASCAR "Chase for the Cup" Series competition.

This year's Grand Marshal will open the starting gate for the WASC Pace Car and command the drivers, "Boys and Girls, Start Your Engines!" at WASCAR's signature event, which will run on March 1st at the Williams Elementary Speedway.
